Norwalk Dental Specialists Donate $178,000 in Services to Day Street Community Health Center Patients
Day Street Community Health Center (CHC) recently hosted an appreciation event to recognize six dental specialists and one general dentist from the greater Norwalk area who donated their time to see 150 dental patients from CHC who required specialty care. Over the last three years, these dentists provided more than $178,000 of in-kind services.

Senators Blumenthal, Murphy, Ayotte and Rep. Himes re-introduce resolution for National Pediatric Stroke Awareness Month
Today, U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) joined with Congressman Jim Himes (D-Conn.-4th) in re-introducing a resolution to recognize May as National Pediatric Stroke Awareness Month. The resolution was inspired by seven-year-old Wilton, Conn., resident Patch Angerame, who suffered a stroke while still in the womb.

Danbury Hospital Praxair Cancer Center Offers Free Skin Cancer Screening
The Praxair Cancer Center at Danbury Hospital located at 95 Locust Avenue will host a free skin cancer screening on Tuesday, May 19th and Wednesday, May 20th from 6 to 8 p.m. The screenings will be provided by Danbury area board-certified dermatologists with support from clinical and allied health staff. The public is invited and encouraged to take advantage of this free screening, especially those individuals who never had their skin checked for skin cancer.

During the tour, Esty met with Dr. Matt Miller, Chief Medical Officer; Dr. Paul Fiedler, Chairman of Pathology; Dr. Cristiano Ferlini, Rudy and Sally Ruggles Endowed Chair of Cancer Research; and Dr. Thomas Rutherford, Ph.D., the Network Physician Director of Cancer Services, in addition to global research scholars working at the Institute.
