Greenwich Fourth of July fireworks set for July 6
The Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation announces the locations of the two Town Fireworks Displays in celebration of Independence Day. For the eighth consecutive year, the Town will present displays at Binney Park and Greenwich Point Park. Both displays are scheduled for Saturday, July 6, with a rain date of Sunday, July 7. Both shows will begin at dusk and it is strongly recommended that anyone planning to attend either display arrive early.

All-female band The Go-Go’s will bring in the beat at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, June 20

One of the most successful female pop bands of all time, The Go-Go’s are coming to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, June 20, at 8 p.m. “We Got The Beat”, “Our Lips Are Sealed”, “Vacation”, “Head Over Heels” and “Turn to You” are some of their mega ‘80s hits. Today, with the original hit making lineup intact, including Belinda Carlisle, Charlotte Caffey, Gina Schock and Jane Wiedlin, The Go-Go’s deliver in their live shows every bit of the raw energy of their now-legendary punk beginnings, tempered with the wisdom of three decades of pop perfection. Known as America’s sweethearts, the Go-Go’s helped cement the foundation of the early ‘80?s pop-rock sound among their international fan base.

DEEP Continues 2013 Year of the Snake Activities
Snake Day Scheduled for June 23 at Sessions Woods WMA in Burlington

Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Wildlife Division and the Friends of Sessions Woods, as part of the Year of the Snake awareness campaign with Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation (PARC), are sponsoring a special day to celebrate snakes. Snake Day is scheduled for Sunday, June 23, from 1:00 – 4:00 PM, at the Sessions Woods Wildlife Management Area, in Burlington. Families and anyone else interested in snakes are encouraged to participate in this free event, which will consist of informative talks on Connecticut's native snakes, snake crafts, face painting, and a chance to see live snakes. Brian Kleinman from Riverside Reptiles (www.RiversideReptiles.com) will provide an educational program at 2:45 PM featuring several live snakes.
