FAIRFIELD, CT - Fairfield Museum and History Center (www.fairfieldhistory.org) plans a day of fun and games for the entire community as it hosts annual community picnic on Memorial Day, May 28th, after the town parade from noon to 3 p.m. to commemorate the holiday. The museum will also offer free admission for the day to its new IMAGES 2012 exhibition and will unveil 9 new self-guided walking tour signs.

“The Memorial Day Parade is a wonderful tradition in our town,” said Michael Jehle, executive director of the Museum “We are encouraging everyone who attends the parade to picnic with us at the Museum and bring a picnic lunch or buy great hot dogs and burgers from Kiwanis and enjoy a full afternoon of activities, along with the opportunity for a self-guided walking tour with our new signs.

“Try your hand at some water-balloon games, enter a watermelon eating contest and pick a partner for the three-legged race. It’s a great way to relax with friends and family. Our museum gift shop will also be open for buyers who are seeking unusual gifts at great prices and with some great bargains.
