Mashantucket, CT - Foxwoods Resort Casino was honored at the 2012 Global Gaming Expo with a Sherpie Award for “Best Facebook Promotion.” Presented by Masterminds, a travel and leisure ad agency, this esteemed award highlights the Best Social Media Marketing in the Casino Industry.

The honor was awarded for the resort casino’s “Anything But Ordinary” and “Ultimate Weekend Giveaway” Facebook promotions. More than 10,000 people entered this innovative campaign. Foxwoods also saw a 257 percent growth in Facebook fans and nearly 143 million Facebook impressions, making it an exceptional candidate for the award and ultimately the winner.

Turning 20 this past February, Foxwoods used this milestone as an opportunity to reinvigorate the brand and showcase the extraordinary and diverse experiences patrons can enjoy at the resort. In support of the fully integrated “Anything But Ordinary” campaign, the Facebook sweepstakes promotion reinforced the “stars” of the campaign – The Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Joker.

“We had a lot of fun with this sweepstakes program which allowed for us to connect with our fans and creatively reinforce the new brand campaign” said Rebecca Carr, Chief Marketing Officer.

The King, Queen, Jack, Ace and Joker Sweepstakes each included a luxury weekend stay with gift cards, entertainment tickets and exclusive dining experience designed to suit different tastes.
