Due to yesterday’s electrical problems at Stamford Government Center, the building will be closed to all public access today. All public meetings scheduled to take place in Government Center today, are cancelled and will be rescheduled. The WIC and Social Services programs will be closed today.

However, all emergency and essential personnel are working and available as necessary. All other municipal public services and facilities are open and operating normally. Citizens Service Center is open and will be receiving calls at 203-977-4140.

If citizens are in need of a cooling center, all local firehouses are open to the public. Additional cooling centers will be opened, as necessary. Additional options to get relief from heat are public facilities such as the Mall and libraries.

Everyone is encouraged to use caution is this extreme heat; please visit our website at: www.cityofstamford.org, for tips on how to stay safe and well through the heat wave.
