On addition to the Olympics, Mayor Pavia will have a series of meeting across a wide array of sectors and industries. He will meet with senior management of Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and several research institutes – Francis Crick Institute and University College of London. He will preview Imperial College’s new campus, Imperial West, a master plan, mixed-use development of commercial, residential, academic and leisure facilities. Imperial West will feature an incubator environment to support Imperial’s strong technology transfer activities. Mayor Pavia will meet with the Mayor of the Borough of Hackney and visit Hackney House, a showcase for the borough’s digital, retail and creative industries. Hackney House will also be a resource center for the thousands of journalists covering the Olympic Games. A meeting has also been arranged with Andrew Altman, CEO of London Legacy Development Corp, whose goal is to provide for the regeneration of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and assure that the Olympic facilities are sustained into the future. Mr. Altman was instrumental in the first planning for the South End development here in Stamford. Before returning home on August 7th, Mayor Pavia will meet with industry executives at the Financial Services Authority, the regulatory agency of the financial and insurance sectors in the UK. The finance and insurance sectors combine to form the single largest employment base in Stamford. The Mayor will be traveling with Mary Lou Rinaldi, Vice Chair of the Stamford Board of Finance, Laure Aubuchon, Director of Economic Development and William Arnone, partner at Capital Financial Management in Stamford. The delegation will assume the cost of the trip. © Copyright by ShorelinePlus.com.
