Lancaster, PA - The Bridgeport Bluefish (4-4, 35-43) suffered the teams’ second straight loss as the Lancaster Barnstormers (5-2, 50-27) defeated the road squad by a score of 3-2 at Clipper Magazine Stadium on Friday. Bridgeport is now 2-9 against Lancaster this season.

Shea Hillenbrand socked his second homer of the year with a shot to left in the fifth inning. It was the only hit for the designated hitter on the night. Brock Peterson smacked a solo drive to leftcenter in the ninth. It was his Atlantic League leading 19th homer of the season. Peterson had extended his on-base streak to fourteen with a walk in the second and a single in the fourth. Luis Figueroa picked up two hits on the night while James Simmons and Kennard Jones produced the only other singles for the road team.

The Lancaster Barnstormers were able to score two runs in the second and one more in the third to account for all of the offense on Friday. Brad Boyer and Bridger Hunt drove in one runner in the second while Emerson Frostad earned an RBI single to left in the third frame. Hunt finished with three hits and Kody Kirkland produced two for the winning team.

Bridgeport starter, Raymar Diaz (2-8), suffered the tough loss as the righthanded hurler completed seven innings and allowed three runs on ten hits and one walk while fanning five. Julio DePaula and Rommie Lewis combined to throw a scoreless eighth in giving up two walks and striking out two Barnstormers batters.

Lancaster starter, Dwayne Pollok (7-0), became the first Barnstormers pitcher in franchise history to win the first seven games to open up a season. The righthanded pitcher threw seven innings of one run, four hit, two walk and five strikeout baseball. Jeff Bennett allowed two hits and fanned one in a scoreless eighth while Tim Hamulack collected his 17th save. The closer surrendered Peterson’s homer in the ninth.
