Sugar Land, TX - The Bridgeport Bluefish (30-38) came back from a 4-0 deficit against the Sugar Land Skeeters (28-40) to defeat the home team by a score of 5-4 from Constellation Field on Friday. It was the first victory in franchise history for the Bluefish at Constellation Field in franchise history. Bridgeport is now 4-4 against Sugar Land this season.

Bridgeport scored three runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth to sneak by Sugar Land. The only RBI in the seventh frame was a two out single to leftcenter by Edgardo Baez. He advanced to second on a throwing error. With runners in scoring position, a ground ball got by shortstop, Iggy Suarez, to score both runners. In the eighth, Luis Rodriguez picked up an RBI single with the bases loaded while the go-ahead runner came to the plate on a passed ball after a strikeout by Shea Hillenbrand.

Brock Peterson and Prentice Redman reached base twice on the day and each picked up one hit. Shea Hillenbrand earned his first Bluefish hit with an infield single in the second off starter, Pedro Liriano while Luis Rodriguez and Kennard Jones had the only other hits on Friday.

The Skeeters scored three unearned runs, in the third inning, which gave the home team the lead. Ofilio Castro singled to leftcenter with runners, at first and second, to plate the lead runner while Steve Moss drove in two later in the frame. Castro and Moss had two hits on the evening while Josh Pressley picked up two three. Sugar Land would add one more on a Dominic Ramos RBI triple to rightcenter in the sixth; but those contributions were not enough.

Bluefish starter, Gilbert De La Vara did not factor in the decision as the southpaw completed five-and-one-third innings and allowed four runs (one earned) on eight hits and four walks while fanning two. Kyle Zaleski (4-2) came out of the bullpen for the road team to collect his second victory in his last two outings. The righthander pitched one-and-two-thirds innings of scoreless baseball on one hit, one walk and a strikeout. Jesse English worked the eight frame and struck out a batter while Jorge Julio notched his eighth save of the season. The closer allowed a hit and a walk while Sugar Land struck out twice.

Liriano lasted five innings and struck out five and gave up one hit to Hillenbrand. Four relievers combined for four frames of five run (two earned run), five hit, one walk and one strikeout baseball. Garrett Parcell (0-1) took the loss as he allowed the final run of the night in the eighth.

Bridgeport continues the four game series against Sugar Land on Saturday. First pitch from Constellation Field is slated for 8:05 PM. Bridgeport will send lefthanded starter, Righthanded pitcher Chris Hayes (0-1, 3.68 ERA), to the hill as he is opposed by Sugar Land lefthanded hurler, Bobby Livingston (8-2, 4.31 ERA).
