Watermark University courses available to local seniors

Bridgeport, CT - The Watermark at 3030 Park is pleased to announce its Watermark University spring semester courses are now underway, with course catalogs available to Fairfield County seniors. Watermark University is a continuing education program designed with interesting topics and programs to keep seniors’ minds and bodies fit.

On the first and third Wednesday of each month at 2:00 p.m., Professor Harriet Hiller will teach “Art History,” a course that examines the art of ancient civilizations through modern times. Students will “meet” the artists of each epoch, discover the history and culture of the period, and connect the artist’s relevancy and legacy to our own times. Lectures are slide illustrated and personalized by selected readings. Professor Hiller currently teaches at Sacred Heart University and Housatonic Community College.

“Balance for Life: Senior Fall Prevention Program” is another course that aims help seniors keep fit and safe from falls. Instructor and practicing physical therapist Natalie Chinitz will teach students how to reduce the risk of falls in their home environments and will also discuss the complex systems involved with balance and safety. “Balance for Life” will be offered on Friday, February 10 at 11:00 a.m.
