He has served as treasurer and most recently as first vice president. In 2008 he received the Museum’s Person of the Year award. Swerdloff has volunteered with other community organizations including Senior Services of Stamford, Inc., The Volunteer Center, where he was chair of the Court Advisory Committee, and Teen Life Center. He was recently the chair of the Business Law Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association.

Bruce Silverstone was elected first vice president, Molly Seegers as second vice president, and Mary Flounders Green as treasurer. Additionally, the board welcomed its newest members, Kip Bergstrom, Gerald M. Fox III, Constance Hubbard, and Darren Metzger.
Bergstrom serves as Executive Director of the Stamford Urban Redevelopment Commission, the development agency for the City of Stamford, and previously served as Executive Director of the Rhode Island Economic Policy Council, a private/public partnership, which set economic strategy for the State of Rhode Island. Prior to his work in Rhode Island, Bergstrom was the City of Stamford’s first Economic Development Director, and was the lead on the recruitment of Swiss Bank, now UBS, to Stamford.
Rep. Fox, a Stamford native, is an Assistant Majority Leader currently serving his third term representing Stamford’s 146th District in the House of Representatives. He serves as the vice chair of the Judiciary Committee, a member of the Planning and Development Committee, and a member of the Transportation Committee. At the legislature, Fox co-chaired a special task force on Domestic Violence in Immigrant Communities and served on the National Conference of State Legislatures’ Law and Criminal Justice Committee. Previously, Fox has been elected to Stamford’s Board of Finance and has served as co-chair of the Land Use Committee. Additionally, Fox has practiced law for 15 years and is a partner with the Stamford law firm of Fox & Fox, and also serves on the Board of Directors for Stamford Public Education Foundation, CTE, Inc., and the Advisory Board of the Stamford Youth Foundation.
Hubbard has worked at General Electric Company as Human Resources Practioner for over 25 years. In 2003, she was appointed Manager, Global Employer of Choice for GE Corporate Financial Services, and was responsible for the overall design and development of the business’ Corporate Diversity Strategy. In early 2005, she was given the opportunity to serve as a Human Resources Executive for GE Capital’s Commercial Finance’s Citizenship Initiative. In this capacity she was able to partner with several Not-For-Profit organizations, both locally and nationally. Hubbard was also one of the original Advisory Members of General Electric Company’s African American Forum, a Company-Wide Affinity Network, which served as the model for other affinity groups that have been launched since that time. She is an active community participant, and is a member of the Stamford/Norwalk Chapter of Jack & Jill of America, Inc., where she is co-chair of its Foundation & Community Service Committee. She is also a Member of the Fairfield County Chapter of Links, Inc., and involved in service initiatives and community outreach in the Fairfield County area. She serves on the Board of Trustees of the King & Low-Heywood Thomas School and is a member of the Board’s Compensation & Benefits, Citizenship and Scholarship committees.
Metzger is franchise marketing director of National Geographic Kids Entertainment. Metzger possesses more than 15 years of experience in building successful entertainment brands for the cable television, video games, licensing, home video and motion picture industries. He previously worked at Home & Garden Television/Scripps Networks as director of ad sales marketing, and served as director of international ad sales marketing at Hallmark Channel/Crown Media. Metzger spent eight years at Nickelodeon/MTV Networks in various marketing roles, including manager of marketing at Nickelodeon Germany, director of international franchise management and finally as director of international home video and software. He is a published writer on comic books, Japanese animation, toys, and collectables. He serves on the board of the NYC Comic Book Museum.
The board recognized and thanked members who had completed their terms including Arnold M. Karp who joined the board in1995 and served in executive leadership roles including president and vice president of the board. The board also recognized Jill Sendor-Laychak, who joined the board of directors in 1990, and has served in executive leadership roles as first and second vice president, as well as secretary.
Juanita T. James of Stamford, the outgoing president, was also recognized for her term as board president and 10 years on the board of directors. James previously served in executive leadership roles on the board including co-president, first vice president, and chair of the Nominating & Governance Committee.
Board member and 2010 Wine Tasting Committee chair Claudia Silver was presented with the 2010 Person of the Year award. Silver joined the Board of Directors midterm in 2006 and became a member of the Nominating & Governance Committee. She has chaired the Museum’s Wine Tasting event for four years in a row beginning in 2007.
