Following up on past and present winners of Stamford Plus magazine's Best of Stamford awards brings us news from the 2012 Best Out of Area Resort winner - Woodloch in the Pocono Mountains Lake Region in Pennsylvania.

Hawley, PA - Chasing a golf ball around the course all day can sure work up an appetite. Thankfully, we’re in luck.

The Grille Room Restaurant, located in the Clubhouse at Woodloch Springs, is a hidden gem among eateries in the Hawley area. The menu offers a wide array of steaks, sandwiches, seafood and appetizers, all moderately priced. Executive Chef and Culinary Institute of America graduate, Ryne Spalding, remarks, “When we create new dishes and menus, I always try to make them better than the previous ones. Impressing people with presentations and new flavors is my passion. I love the art of food and the open canvas it provides to create exceptional dishes.”

Once deemed “private,” the Grille Room opened in 1992 for residents of Woodloch Springs, a residential golf community that is part of the larger Woodloch Resort, an all-inclusive family resort. It is now a local dining venue open for all to enjoy in their backyard. So why choose the Grille Room? “With our menu, fantastic views of the fairway, outdoor patio and family-friendly atmosphere, no other establishment in the area really compares. Visit us and give us the opportunity to prove it,” says Matt Kiesendahl, Clubhouse Manager. In addition to traditional American fare, check out dishes like the Tuna Nacho, a delicious concoction of wontons, wakame salad, yellowfin tuna, teriyaki, wasabi, ginger and tobiko caviar.

The casually classy atmosphere and diverse menu of the Grille Room make it a premiere dining option for all types of occasions. Whether it be family bonding time, catching up with some friends over cocktails, or a night out with a special someone, the Grille Room caters to all tastes.

Additionally, the Springs will debut exciting new offerings in the coming months. These include “Strings at the Springs,” which will feature live music, half-priced drinks, and specially selected appetizers on both Friday and Sunday afternoons, as well as “Nine & Dine,” a $50 package that includes nine holes of golf and a $20 Grille Room credit.

Chef Spalding knows that there is more to dining out than meets the eye. “Going ‘out to eat’ is never just about the food even though that is part of it. People go out to relieve stress, have fun and enjoy themselves. Our mission at the Grille Room is to provide all of that and more.”

The Grille Room at the Clubhouse is open Tuesday through Sunday. Please call 570-685-8113 for reservations.
